“Volunteer for a 2nd chance” consists of representatives from the wider volunteering group supporting Archipelagos Social Cooperative and more specifically the Second Hand Shop at Kypseli’s Municipal Market. Archipelagos Social Cooperative is a social enterprise which aims to create job opportunities and positions for people with psychosocial problems, immigrants/refugees and other groups facing working and social exclusion. So far, Archipelagos is successfully activated in the following fields: cleaning services, small repairs, Second Hand Shop and food services (catering). More specifically, the Second Hand Shop is an ambitious project seeking to create multiple second chances. It provides employment second chances for people with psychosocial problems by supporting their job positions and by contributing to their integration and financial self-sufficiency. It also provides second chances to already used items, which won’t just be thrown away, but will get a new life circle with people who will obtain them from the Second Hand Shop at low cost and for a good cause. The objects to be sold in the shop come from private or social donations. “Volunteer for a 2nd chance” group aspires to be trained and to evolve its members skills, in order to amplify the working and social integration of people with psychosocial problems even more efficiently.
