Communication Strategy for Experienced CSOs (Group 2)

Communication means many different things to each of us. One thing is certain, however: the design and implementation of a communication strategy is essential for every non-profit organisation in order to effectively promote its work to the wider public and achieve its mission in the long term.

It is also essential for organisations to highlight their social impact and inspire genuine public interest in their work.

The aim of this seminar is to provide an in-depth understanding of the role of communication strategy in the operation, growth, and mission advancement of a non-profit organisation. The seminar is designed around transforming the ideas developed by participants during the sessions into realistic approaches that they can immediately apply within their own organisations.

At the same time, participants will have the opportunity to share their own experiences and concerns, while group discussions will help identify valuable lessons and practical insights.

Through experiential and interactive case studies and exercises, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the concept of communication strategy from A to Z
  • Recognise why communication strategy is essential and how it relates to operational strategy
  • Focus on the key steps involved in developing a communication strategy
  • Identify who should be involved in the strategic planning process
  • Understand the relationship between communication strategy, fundraising, and volunteer engagement
  • Explore where organisations should place emphasis depending on their available human and material resources
  • Design a communication campaign based on specific planning stages
