Open Lab: Athens was founded in December 2016. It is a research and technology lab based in Athens and an initiative from the sector of the human computer interaction, among the universities of Newcastle, Swansea, Saarland, Hasselt and Northumbria. OL: Athens aims mainly at designing and developing technologies with the support of solidarity structures through the creation of innovative social schemes of provision of services, self-organization and bottom-up participatory decision making processes.
